Downlink MIMO-RSMA With Successive Null-Space Precoding

In this paper, we consider the precoder design for an underloaded or critically loaded downlink multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication system. We propose novel precoding and decoding schemes which enhance system performance based on rate splitting at transmitter single-stage successive interference cancellation receivers. The proposed null-space (SNS) utilizes linear combinations of basis vectors successively augmented MIMO channel matrices users as to adjust inter-user-interference experienced by formulate a non-convex weighted sum optimization problem associated power allocation SNS-based MIMO-rate-splitting multiple access (RSMA) scheme. obtain suboptimal solution via convex approximation. Moreover, study robustness scheme imperfect state information (CSI) base station derivative-based sensitivity analysis. Our analysis simulation results reveal enhanced MIMO-RSMA over several baseline schemes, especially CSI.
